MEASURE LENGTH AND OBSTACLES
Measure from the rear expansion-slot bracket to the first real obstacle. Front fans, radiators, drive cages and cable covers can reduce the advertised case clearance.
THICKNESS AND SLOTS
Check how many slots the card occupies and what sits directly below it. A thick card can cover another expansion slot or sit too close to a power-supply shroud.
POWER AND CONNECTORS
Verify the manufacturer’s recommended system power and the exact connector type. Leave room for the cable bend; the plug must not be forced against the side panel.

Physical clearance is only the first check. Fans need intake space, hot air needs an exit, and a front radiator can change both length and temperature conditions.
